| Belonging from a long line of ragis tracing their roots all the way back to the Gurus, Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shant is one of the leading young Ragis in the world of Gurmat Sangeet. Given to rigorous riyaz, Bhai Gurmeet Singh is proficient particularly at singing compositions from Guru Gobind Singh’s Dasham Granth, including Ragamalas, Taranas and Guldastas. He is a regular guest at leading Kirtan Samagams in India. Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shant and his jatha visited the Boston area in 2004 to participate in two kirtan programmes. He is extremely diligent and creative, constantly expanding his repertoire by learning new compositions and coming up with new ones of increasing musical and rhythmic complexity. |
