| Mukhtiyar Ali’s voice,
has that rare marriage of the masculine and the feminine, a merging
of the earthy directness of the folk music and the complex octaves
of the classical traditions. Therefore, when one listens to Mukhtiyar,
one is transported to a different realm. For a moment, one is able
to escape the everyday business of life, with its many distractions
and connect to the central message of the Sufis - love. While Mukhtiyar Ali’s music is rooted in the Sufi tradition, he fearlessly collaborates with versatile contemporary musicians, film directors and singers across the globe. Mukhtiyar Ali crosses boundaries of genres and cultures with ease. He began his musical journey with Sufiana Qalam. However, he draws his music from a wide range of inspirations across Rajasthan and Punjab in India and Pakistan. Besides Sufiana Qalam, he also sings Kafi, Qawwali, Ghazals, Bhajans and Kabir Vani. |
