Bhakti forms in Carnatic music : N. Vijay Siva (Chennai)
Indian music is synonymous with Bhakti music.
South Indian composers discovered and experienced
that the marriage between a raga and lyrics soaked
in bhakti could elevate the soul to the doorstep
of ‘archaradhi marga’ – the
path to salvation. This evening, we present the
compositions of South Indian saints who lived
their lives full of music and bhakti – and
are believed to have attained the ultimate goal
of human existence.
