Nagori
sufi singers Abdul Ghani, Ajah Maideen and Saburmaideen
Babha Sabeer sing devotional songs in Tamil and Arabic
dialects at special religious and social occasions of
the local community. All three of them have been singing
these songs at the Nagore Dargah, Tamil Nadu for years.
Says Ajah Maideen: “We are immensely happy for
the opportunity to take Tamil Sufi music to newer boundaries
and horizons. The exciting part is to fuse our Sufi
chants with these distinct sounds, as we believe that
the rhythm of our music gets enhanced with such a combination.
Each song symbolizes love for the Almighty and aims
to foster camaraderie between people of different cultures,
religions and beliefs.”
